Delivery Week - Part 2

Wait and See

At about 4:00p, Lara and the baby are making steady progress. The baby is moving. Contractions are 2 minutes apart but her cervix is still at about 1 cm.

How I interpret it is that the baby is walking to a door but she likes to do it slowly, like she’s looking at Tik Tok.

As contractions are relatively close, Lara can no longer use drugs to help induce, at least for the time being. The providers have move to a different technique, a Foley Bulb Induction or Foley Balloon to help open the cervix.

This is an uncomfortable procedure that creates some pain and pressure. This procedure could last for up to 12 hours, depending on if her cervix continues to dilate. She may start an epidural to ease the discomfort.
