Eating Out of House and Home

Today is the first time the family walked out of the house on a non-medical related walk. This is something that we didn’t think would happen so soon. As a taste of Spring has sprung on the first 70 degree day of the year, we couldn’t resist the urge to show off and show Jaxon his first clear view of the outside world. More on this in a subsequent post.

Jaxon’s health is pretty solid. He eats like he’s training for the Nathan’s annual Hot Dog Eating Contest, sucking down vats of breast milk from his mother or from the bottle. Given how small his stomach is, it seems improbable that he can drink so much. We think that Jax is averaging about 12 to 15 ounces per day. Children between the ages of four and eight year’s old are recommended to drink about 40 ounces. Because he scarfs it down so fast now, it means that he poops just as fast. We are going through 10 to 12 diapers per day. This has made sleeping some how less possible. The important thing is that we think he’s growing and look forward to his next pediatrician appointment where we learn his weight and where all this breast milk is going.

It’s a short note today, we hope to have more to talk about tomorrow.

Thanks
