Delivery Week - Part 2

A Hard Road

Lara has been in active labor for much of this afternoon but the pushing of baby out started at about 4:30p. She pushed approximately 20 times with contractions and has made some progress but she has developed a slight fever during the day. The fever is somewhat concerning as it could be an indicator of an infection, which isn’t good for Lara or the baby. The Midwife and nurses have done a great job encouraging her and making sure that she is safe.

The baby is currently fine. The team, along with Lara, agreed to a 30 minute break to recover and review next steps. Lara is sleeping. Before she slept, she did look at our son to see the smiling face in picture shared but Kim. What a cute and handsome little boy who loves his mama! And trucks! And Gecko! Seeing Jaxon will no doubt help activate her superstar powers!

While the Midwife doesn’t think that a cesarean is the next step, it is now being considered. Lara would rather not have this procedure as it would require her to be virtually immobilized for several days while she heals.

Okay – we are ready to try again.
