Delivery Week

Day Seven

Hey there.

We have moved to the Labor and Delivery ward. Lara and baby Fife-Myers are under continuous monitoring by Robin, who may or may be having hot flashes.

Things are good. The induction process should begin soon.

Details:
The induction process has many steps. The first step is to continually monitor Lara and the Baby to make sure both are doing well. At some point, the medical team will give her pill that will ripen her cervix. Unlike other options, once she takes that pill, we cannot stop the process. Basically, it will expedite the labor process. This process may take many hours and has two outcomes: 1. Her cervix will dilate to 10 cm and she could have a vaginal birth 2. The baby or she will be in distress, experience significant fatigue, or some other factors, they will move to an emergency cesarean birth.

We would prefer a natural birth, with as few medical interventions as possible, but we are ready to change those plans we move through the birth process. The money says that the baby will be born tomorrow.

As we have changed wards, I am unable to leave hospital grounds due to COVID-19 restrictions. Luckily, I have managed to pack 70 percent of what we own and bring it to the hospital.

I have also configured a Remote Desktop connection to the SECOND PC I created during Covid. While it’s not as secure as a VPN connection and the hospital internet access is spotty, it works.

Again, thanks for your support.
